History of American Casinos

Gambling was illegal in the United States before 1931. In 1931, Nevada made gambling legal, making it the first state in the U.S.A. to have legalized gambling. During that same decade, twenty-one states made betting on racetracks legal, and bingo games for charity were also legalized in many states.

The 1940s saw a burst of success in the Las Vegas gambling sector, which still continues to today, making it one of the most popular gambling regions in the world.
